As I recall, the original TV play was really funny; but the subsequent series was really grim, with only moments of light relief (eg. "Gissa Job").

With you on Shameless, below - fantastic! Latest series out on DVD very soon, although, AB has probably already illegally watched it under orders from the missus. When he's hauled off to prison, do you think he'll try the Nuremburg defence? "B-b-b-b-but, Mrs AB made me do it!"
