Sorry but that's complete s**t...

1. I'd rather they looked at all the options rather than rushing into it. This appointment is VERY important. And dare I say you'd be the first person whinging on here if you thought they'd not been thorough?

2. They weren't the only people to think Grant was the right man for the job. General consensus at the time seemed to be that he was a calculated risk, but he showed an awful lot of promise and had a very good CV.

3. "I am just really surprised they haven't had the gumption to identify somebody they really want ". No, you're surprised they haven't had the gumption to ring you up, ask you who you want, then appoint him right away. If they'd appointed someone other than your personal preference you'd still be pissing and moaning on here right now.
