Hmm you are going by his second season...

When you say by the skin of his teeth. he had them well in the top half of the league when his team were favourites for the drop in every quarters and kept them up during the "second season syndrome" he is out of reach.. he's waiting for a premiership, because he's proved that to be his level.. this job would be a huge backward step for him. which is why he will not take it.
