Derby had a lot more money than us.

To be fair to Grant, at least he did try to sign Pearson, and Howard too. But following the takeover Derby had (effectively) a new board and they put in loads of money. Billy Davies spent around 10 million building that team - and it wasn't clearly enough for survival in the Premiership.
