what you say about intelligence is spot on

i just listened to the interview with him and was amazed by just how much english he has learnt in just two months all ON HIS OWN. He could hardly speak a word when he arrived and he can now understand interviewers' questions and respond elegantly and grammatically, using complex tenses (his irregular verbs are a bit off, but that's about it).

A player with his ability and his intelligence can go a long way.
