Hell, early days yet of course, but is he going to be a big, big favourite here?
Sincerly hope he gets his chance now and PG gives him a run of games to do just that. As has been said, Brown works his socks off and his effort can't be questioned, however, a return is expected in the form of goals from someone in his position. He works hard but yields very little, yet we have also had strikers who do very little-McDougall through to Earnshaw-but get more than their fair share of goals,
A Dave and JC front pairing could work very well, given time. Both are intelligent footballers, their positional play is good, they make runs and find space well and, certainly with JC, they are more than "tap in" forwards.
I am really warming to Dave-just everything about him since he joined, quiet, wants to impress, has made an effort-his English is pretty damned good already-and it seems he ispopular around the club and with his team mates. We need that sort of togetherness that typified the Championship squad and which came out well in Iwan's book -though it wasn't perfect as he pointed out-but, again, with Dave scoring yesterday and us grinding out a result and holding onto a league, its a good a result as we have had in a while. Lets go to Charlton now and let them worry about us, we are more than capable of getting a win there, lets hope PG feels the same way.
Finally, for those that went yesterday-reports suggest Russell had a good game again-is he turning out to be a very good signing?
