then they have behaved in a ver' ver' stupid fashion. If they'd done a bit of conventional grieving and then gone home after 10 days, Johnny Porto would have bumbled around for a bit and then quietly heaved a sigh of relief and said "investigation closed for lack of leads". By staying out there and doing a TV appeal every 24 hours, not to mention banging on about how cack PC Porto was and demanding some proper forensics from the UK, they just racheted up the pressure.

On the basis of which, I don't think they dunnit. It was the butler.
