1. Rubbish game really even though it didn't matter, not helped by the officials - at least we got a comedy own goal of our own this season I suppose.
2. Agree with the club captain bit, and reckon Grant'll bring someone in next season as his captain - new managers tend to want their own captains, and earlier in the season Drury's armband was staying 'for the moment' I seem to recall. Four years is a long contract, perhaps he has another role for him in mind - he did play wing-back at Posh for a while...
3. ...which perhaps is the way of accommodating Huckerby into a side - putting out a 3-5-2 (or 3-4-1-2 effectively). Bit risky against the better sides, but given our defensive frailties and supposed attacking strengths it could be a case of let's just try and outscore whoever's in front of us. Huckerby will be the key man in the team next year for Grant, and we're REALLY going to miss him when he's gone. Not sure our fans quite realise that at the moment.
4. I also reckon Fotheringham will do alright next year. At the moment he delivers a good ball when he's not got much time, but give him a few seconds and he 'over thinks' (if that makes sense?!). Grant's obviously got plans for him, and I don't think we've seen where / how he wants to play him properly yet with our injuries.
5. Martin looked shattered yesterday in my opinion - be good for him to have a close-season rest and like you said, MP, get him playing alongside a targetman (assuming Earnshaw leaves). Else he'll be a far better option off the bench than Thorne ever was.
6. Once the goals start going in before we concede them I reckon we could have a decent side under Grant - not convinced by his 'we need to win dirty' approach, I reckon he really wants to see ruthless attacking football and will build a team to do that.
7. A pre-season sorting out marking / attacking set-pieces will surely mean next season's are better. Good to see a selection of players now willing to take free-kicks too, offers variety we've lacked for ages.
8. Given his post-match reaction I also reckon Dublin's off, reckon Earnshaw will stay though.
9. Otsemobor will be in, leaves Hughes to be a squad player (think that'll be his role next year). We desperately need a goal-keeper (hope we'll end up with Marshall), a quality centre-back and a midfield general / bastard to get out there and dominate the game.
