but the change from confidence, cockiness and ambition to arrogance isn't immediate, there's generally a season or two's worth of grace

for me though i wouldn't include Arsenal with Wenger as (despite going a whole season unbeaten) they never achieved the dominance that Man Ure under Fergie and Liverpool in the 80s (too young to remember the 70s) enjoyed.

some of the football i've seem them play has been absolutely beautiful too, plus while they were winning it meant Man Ure weren't!

but yeah, your point is totally valid, i reckon for the majority of non-top-four football supporters it tends to be a case of picking the lesser of 2, 3 or 4 evils
