I'm happy more youth got a chance tonight

Players like Spilliane have always performed well considering their age. Spillane, Martin, and hopefully Renton too will be the 3 major plus points to take from this season.

It's the same in all sports, you either have the talent or you don't. Ryan Jarvis has been "promising" for way too long. If he was that good he'd have proved it by now, same applies to Henderson.

Look at Lewis Hamilton, proof again that if you have the talent you don't need time to break in.

Henderson and Jarvis are never going to make it here and may as well be sold or released at the end of the season.

We need the following players as our base for next season and then build around them:

Warner
Shackell
Drury
Etuhu
Spillane
Lappin
Fotheringham
Hucks
Safri - IF he stays.
Chadwick - Who will be WAY better than Croft once fully fit.
Croft - I really hope Grant gets him sorted over the summer, or he's going to be another going nowhere. Worth one more season 100% under Grant though.
Martin
Earnshaw
Dublin

Hopefully next year youth such as Eagle can also push through too.

We really have THAT to build on.

We're going to need a good 5 or 6 players in though, AT LEAST one more CB, Doc can go as he's another who's only ever going to go backwards now. Need someone to build a partnership up with Shackell at the back. It COULD be Spillane but I wouldn't want him playing week in week out just yet. We need another experienced but youngish CB to join Shackell.

I fancy us next season. Grant has brought in a lot of decent players and hopefully over the season he'll get rid of all the crap, bring in another half dozen quality players and then next season we'll at least be top half on a regular basis. I really fancy us for a play off spot though under a full pre season and season with Grant and Duffy in charge.
