Hard to conclude that is really the case from that article. Aren’t these stats from Hayden playing in an incredibly defensive line up for Bruce? In a team that actively preferred to be out of possession and breaking quickly from very deep? Hardly the same as Tettey under Farke. Maybe Hayden would have far more flattering passing stats playing in our team. Or maybe our CDM players should have stats more like Hayden’s and much more of a focus on not turning the ball over constantly in dangerous areas.
In any event, won’t it be nice to have a midfield that the opposition don’t run through like water through a sieve? And players that don’t give up immediately when we concede a goal? Even if he’s not the new Pirlo.
