Check any planning permissions they have (if any)

If they built an extension then it may have conditions on it relating to noise levels or alternatively if they got a permission in the first place for the restaurant use (which they may not have done) it may also. You should be able to search for planning permissions on the Council website by entering the address. If there is somethihng then may aid you in your discussions. If they won't be reasonable then its a metter for the Council.

If no conditions (and its quite possible thats not the case) as has been said check the conditions of their licence or it may also be a case of going to environmental health if an amicable solution can't be found.

Finally, although it sounds like this is not likely to be a clear cut case, if the loud music becomes too regular i would say there is an argument uts gone beyond a restaurant use to something more akin to a nightclub or a mixed use which "could" equally be a breach of planning.
