You have my sympathy. Never hurts to try the ‘friendly chat’ - the last thing they will want is noise complaints, as this invites close scrutiny of their business and potential negative (for them) changes to their licence. Proving excessive noise with a council can be a tedious business, and can lead to ill-feeling with the business owners and also some of the ‘loyal customers’ who frequent the establishment. However it pans out, good luck with it 👍
