Did Dry January in 2020 (If I had only known was was coming...) and found that really hard. Overwhelming feeling of depriving myself and that everybody else was drinking and having fun.

This year was much much easier for some reason. I also felt better than the previous year and found my training (I do triathlons) was consistently better than during a normal month.

Our plan (my wife did it with me) is to reverse our traditional 5 nights of drinking (with 2 off) to just drinking 2 nights per week max. I'm also planning a Sober October as well as taking 2 weeks off before my main race in the summer (US Age Group National Championships in August).

We shall see if it works out how we are planning but the urge to get trashed has pretty much disappeared for both of us right now.
