Strange thing alcohol

While like most I've had many sessions out (particularly when younger) where I can't remember the end of the night or how I got home, more recently I've cut out binge drinking and feel so much better for it. Going to the footy with large group of mates, breakfast at 10am, first pub at 11am, then a pint in several more on way towards the ground and then shots at last pub before the game then back to "our pub" after and off we go again. Walk (stagger) home (it's a long way) with pre-designated places where you can have a private pee. Deep breath before entering the front door and trying desperately to appear sober to the wife. Collapse on bed and sleep. In the morning try to remember why you have tomato sauce stains on your jeans and leaves stuck to your jumper. Ah, obviously stopped for chips and then fell in a hedge.

To be honest I didn't think I could enjoy a day out with the lads unless I drank. Since I've stopped (now have decaf coffee or water instead and maybe a couple of pints mixed in - not literally) I realise I still have fun and a good laugh but feel so much better that evening and no longer need two days to recover.

Never have drunk at home so defo a social drinker but cutting right back feels great. A pint is about 220 calories so cutting that out has good health benefits too.

Each to their own though obviously.
