What type of midfielders are PLM and Kenny

I'm really struggling to work out what type of midfielders Kenny and PLM are meant to be.

They aren't midfielders who get stuck in, rat around breaking up play, niggling, putting their foot in and fighting for everything in the Gary Holt, Milligan, Megson mould.
They aren't deep lying play makers like David Fox was.
They aren't box to box midfields who score goals like Francis, Howson etc were.
They aren't creators with a range of passing in the Vrancic/ Crook mould (not sure we will ever see a midfielder as good as Chippy again in a Norwich shirt)
They aren't attacking midfielders/number 10's in the maddison/Wes/Stieperman mould.

What exactly are they and what are their perceived strengths?
