Farke would have been sacked in the end.

As it happens, he was sacked at a point where he was still in favour with the fans, more or less.

If he had not been sacked then, the run of poor performances would have continued as they have done aside from a couple of games, because as has been discussed at length, the squad isn’t good enough. But, we only established that beyond reasonable doubt by trying a new manager.

Until we did that, Farke would have been under pressure.
