Yep I agree

I do think that we've got the players to be more competitive, but almost every other game we go catastrophically wrong tactically (selection, what we do with the toss, on field captaining).

As you say, our selection policy is incoherent. I'd have played a spinner this game too, but much like we did with Moeen and Bess, they're plonked in and expected to perform despite being dicked around endlessly and scapegoated when the batting /one paced seam attack, fails to come off.

All the more frustrating as you feel with a stronger management team we'd be more consistently competitive.
