Tbf, that DM article does say that his Dad was killed by a drunk driver so I can

understand why he might feel he has an axe to grind.

Also, it's not as people don't know not to use your phone whilst driving - if you're going to do it then you run the risk of getting caught, irrespective of whether that's by the police or otherwise.
