Couple of quick questions

Did you take advice from your bank or did you invest without advice?
Did you complete a risk questionnaire? Risk is fundamental to the investment process - the more you take the better your returns could be over time, but equally the greater the chance of nasty surprises.
Some people think they are comfortable with risk when actually on analysis they want all the upside with zero downside - you can’t have both sadly!
If you are looking to invest small amounts without advice I would say Hargreaves Lansdown are as good as anywhere - very user friendly platform, but they are far from cheap!!
If you are looking to simply buy and sell a few shares for a bit of fun have a look at Freetrade - zero buying and selling fees, ok-ish platform.
I’m an IFA by trade so whilst I may not have anywhere the knowledge of Ghost of Barry Butler (πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ) I do this shizzle for a living!!
