I've seen people say that what we need is a "steady, experienced hand", but in my view that's exactly what we don't need. A steady, experienced hand is for when you have a squad that is massively underachieving relative to their ability and if you just get them performing at their 'normal' level they'll be fine.
I'm pretty confident we have one of the worst three squads in the league, so if we perform to our 'normal' level we'll very probably get relegated.
What we need is someone to do something extraordinary and get us performing ABOVE our 'normal' level, and there's probably no way you can do that without taking risks that a 'steady, experienced' hand is unlikely to take.
