It's bred into them from an early age

my son is 14, plays 20/20, and also mens (c.40/50 over each stuff) - but they're basically taught and told to try (usually unsuccessfully) to bat like Ben Stokes - the forward defensive and genuinely solid/correct technique on which they can build, is well out of fashion
