It's not merely losing to Italy which is a bad thing

We may well have lost whatever we did - Italy are very good, and I had them as slight favourites. The problem is that after going 1 up we were basically passive - we waited, and we sat and hoped, and it was a hell of risk. Kane touched the ball precisely no times in their box in the whole of the 2nd half .... nothing gone wrong?
It wasn't some sort of weird unexpected thing either - it's what happened v Croatia. I'm not sure we'll get an opportunity like this for some time - the draw, the home advantage ... and I think we missed a golden chance. I think Southgate knows it too.
