I will admit that we can sell Godfrey and are probably left with a defence which is good enough at this level.
We can probably sell all 5 and still be in contention for the top 6. But we won;t be stronger than last season or better equipped for another crack at the premier league should we get there (when we will be told we can;t spend anything again).
But selling our young talent on a regular basis without having really achieved anything of note will become depressing and it flows from last season which was a pathetic embarrassment on almost every level and yet when that car crash was unfoldong we were told "don't worry its all part of the plan" and "we will come back stronge" when the reality is that 4 or the current 5 likely to be sold were recruited before Webber and there is no great indication that we have an equivalent crop coming through in the next couple of years.
And beyond that it flows from the very top of the club. And thats what depresses me most because they have reduced us to a modern day Crewe Alenxandra under Dario Gradi and have brainwashed large sections of our fanbase into just accepting it because thats "our place in the pecking order" when the reality is that its what they need to enable them to retain ownership without putting any money in. Its born out of necessity given that stance rather than anything else.
The number of opportunities that we have wasted in the last decade are shocking and hardly anyone seems to care.
