How about a football tax on players?

100% tax on income over 50k per week. How will they be able to survive on only 2.6 million a year?

All proceeds distributed to lower league clubs to prevent them going bust. Funds distributed on an average attendance basis - correlating drop in income from no fans to the club's expected attendance.

A UK tax so no need to modify contracts. Set a guillotine clause so the tax ends when crowds return to normal.

Oh wait, that won't happen. A handful of superstars will be paid far in excess of the amount it would take to keep many of the smaller clubs from ceasing to exist :-/
