Back at school for 4 days, has come down with....a cold? Got a nasty temp and cough, producing some snot, but not a huge amount.
So question is, is this the big one? As responsible parents, and following protocols set out by the school, Mrs USH and I are trying to secure a CV19 test. Hop on the phone and get told that since he's had symptoms for some time, they wont give him a test as they're keeping them for people with more recent onset of symptoms. He started coming down with it Tuesday night, we kept him off school Wed just in case and by Wed night he was pretty poorly. So tests are only for those that saw symptoms come on over....what window exactly? Also told that there are no home tests at all.
So essentially there is no test available to us here (Herts).
Called 111 and was told to call GP. Called GP and they suggested we call 111. We will get a call back from a doctor "later today".
So off the back of this, i can only surmise that all the data being reported (no of cases, no of tests) are likely to be bulls**t. Not obvious that the infrastructure is in place to offer a responsive testing service, or wider support. And this is before the number of cases spike up with kids at back at school, unis going back.
Trying to avoid making this a political post, but what the f**k has everyone been up to over the last 6 months? Fucking shambles.
