Every time a TV rights deal is announced by Sky/BT etc, someone states that

Clubs don’t need fans in the stadium to survive and that the tv and merchandise money is enough to run a club. Well I think the old Covid situation is proving that the whole of the sport needs fans like nothing else to survive. We’re all becoming pretty nonplussed by the the whole thing.
