My legal training meant that I used to enjoy arguing people into circles (for my own amusement, devil's advocate style stuff).
These days (in person) I've had further training and now try to use those skills for good (which I'm lucky enough to be in a position to do).
Harder online and if you don't know the person, it's hard to judge motives and engagement. Either way, I prefer to think the best of people. Experience has shown me that the number of genuinely rotten apples is very, very, low and giving people opportunities and pathways can make a huge difference.
