Cash in now, they conceded goals in Championship last season no reason to suspect they wont next. Invest some of the money in a competent Championship back 4 built around Hanley, Zimmerman, Klose, Krul.
Hire a defensive coach if necessary Sol Campbell, Tony Adams Lothar Mattheus.
Promotion last season was in spite of defence not because of it, this needs sorting.
