This was posted by Gemma six weeks ago about possibility of having Covid before Christmas

Does anyone remember there was a really nasty illness going round around Christmas time? On the 15th of December I had returned from a 4 day trip from Milan, Italy, on the 14th December I started to become ill. I returned home and my mum became ill (she has asthma)

First I became really run down, then developing a sore throat, then developing a bad cough which I just could not shift. My symptoms went on for just over 2 weeks and there were days where I felt fine and days where I thought I just wasn’t going to recover.

(I have a weak immune system due to other conditions)

My mums symptoms were worse than mine (because of the asthma) and got strong antibiotics and steroids for 2 weeks which did not make her better at all.

She had a temperature, a really bad cough, couldn’t breathe and struggled to walk up the stairs. She also lost all sense of taste and smell, but recovered around a 2 week period. My dad and sister got ill but only had minor symptoms and have strong immune systems.

My mum and I had both had the flu jab by this point.
I’m not trying to spread false information or scare people- just trying to share what happened and it all clicked in my brain last night- Has anyone else experienced this around December time? #coronavirus

(Not posted by Gemma was that her boyfriend who was with her in Milan got a nasty illness over Christmas and was completely laid out for 3 days)
