Now convinced that I had Cov.19 in January (along with other family and friends) I booked a telephone appointment with my GP yesterday to discuss the possibility. He went over my symptoms which I said included all the well publicised ones but also very painful toe joints and a nasty rash.
He didn't dismiss the possibility out of hand and suggested I call 111 to arrange an anti-body test which would probably take the form a blood test or a mouth swab.
I duly called 111 and explained why I was calling only to be told be a very helpful lady in Glasgow that anti-body tests weren't yet available and that GP should know that.
I asked here if she was getting similar calls from the public and she said she was. Only the day before a lady who had returned from China before xmas rang her to say she was sure that the horrible thing she had just after xmas was Cov.19.
Responder also said the subsequent joint pain and rash I described were also a common but not much publicised side effect in recovering patients: indeed she said her husband had had the virus and suffered the same symptoms.
She concluded by saying she wouldn't be at all surprised if I had had it back then along with others in the community and suggested i get back in touch as soon as an effective anti-body test was available
