what i don't quite grasp

(well, amongst a large field other things) - is how did he know that the alleged sex took place at a time when he was at pizza express? did she when it was exactly, and he recalled where he was at exactly that time? i must say that if so, that is a momentous feat of recollection, though i myself count trips to (RIP) pizza express as amongst the most beautiful experiences of my life.
From his perspective, if he'd come out of this interview as a fool that would have been something, but in fact he comes out as far, far worse.
