...but a full mara's a different beast entirely from a half (my regular long run is 12 miles - very slow miles, mind). For a half I can kind of wing the hydration a bit; for a full I personally need to be properly hydrated and treat it with respect. It's much more than two half marathons, if that makes sense, in terms of what it takes out of me. I'm not a very good runner (good long distance runners are short and slim; I am afflicted by neither of those conditions).
