Lots of respect for one Norfolk village

If you want powerful and get a chance, take a drive/walk through the South Norfolk village of Bergh Apton the villagers have done a stunning tribute to their WW1 fallen.

For me anyway they are more poignant than any of the big staged events, brilliant as they were. They put Tommy silhouettes outside the homes of lads from the village that never came back, 37 in total. Each one is simply adorned with his name, rank, number, regiment, age, date and place of death (Ypres/Somme etc) and which military cemetery his grave is in. Some homes are no longer there so those lads line up outside the village church. It is up until the end of November.
