Glad it was useful. There are no right answers here....

....but if you do go to HR to ask them to try to resolve the matter (note use of the word 'try') then be clear that you want them involved in order to resolve the matter to everyone's mutual satisfaction. In all my years in the HR profession one of the most frustrating things I ever heard (and I heard it often) was when someone came to see me and then said "I don't want you to do anything about this but I have to let someone know what is going on". Grr....
