Thanks Jim, a few quick thoughts.

- The prem money is a bit of a red herring. Everyone gets it so it doesn't give you a competitive advantage over your divisional peers.

- Related to this, there is no such thing as premier league safety outside the top 6. Its a myth (I've posted about this before). So we will never be established in the prem and will always need to be prepared for relegation etc. When you are relegated, the prem money becomes a curse. As it was last year where we had too many players on prem wages who we couldn't shift.

- Clubs that get sold out to new owners get relegated to League 1 all the time. Blackburn, Coventry and Portsmouth are all good examples. Forest survived by the skin of their teeth last year. I.e. new ownership does not guarantee success (again).

- In terms of timing, I guess they didn't realise the deeper weaknesses in structure until last season. This is partly because of McNally and his control, and the aftermath of his departure. Indeed, his failure to develop a proper recruitment system has led to where we are today.
