My problems came with betting on in play football. I became obsessive about it - couldn't watch a game without betting on it, stakes got higher and higher and it's all I would think about and give my attention to. To cut a long story short I was able to recognise it and do something about it before it got out of hand - closed all my accounts and don't bet on anything at all anymore, have found that's the only way - otherwise you kick the big off again IMO.
I no longer think about it or get the temptation often but every now and then it gets in my head. Can you find something else to get you hooked?! Often it's a problem for people with an addictive personality so it can be replaced with something cheaper/healthier!
