We get a big enough bid.
Firstly I suppose that's true of any player for a championship club. Secondly I am not as big as Howson fan as many of our supporters. For me he is slightly symbolic of our lack of steel in that he goes missing too often in key games. Clearly a very good player and on balance I'd prefer to keep him because of that and what I say below but I don't think losing him would be a complete disaster as he's never bossed games consistently in the way you would hope and I think we've never quite found his true role in the side.
That said the media links indicating we are skint and wanting to offload senior players coupled with the release of so many players (all of whom I agree with) does create a bit of nervousness I suppose. We need to be seen by potential signings as a force who can challenge for promotion and I feel that to completely rip up the squad and start from scratch would be an unnecessary mistake because there is a lot of quality in that squad in midfield and attack. I hope therefore that Webber does not get too carried away or that we are not truly "skint" as is being portrayed currently.
All of this rebuilding (plus Martins comments yesterday) just really shows what appalling decision making the board showed this season, effectively wasting and completely writing off our best chance to bounce back.
