Reference the youngish normals dying of heart attacks suddenly below. Any concern or pain

however small or unnecessary it seems, get to your GP and get it checked and if you're still not happy or it happens again, go on pushing for an answer. I had a slight stitch-like pain in my bottom rib on the right hand side on 3 occasions, twice when running up the hill from the ground to Thorpe to beat the traffic, and went to GP after 2nd time. Well man checks, including 2 ECG, said I was fine with 9% chance of heart problems in next 10 years and I should lose some weight and exercise more and was treated for acid indigestion. 2 weeks later on an exercise bike, not having eaten for 5 hours, it happened again, went back to GP as clearly not indigestion. 2 more ECG confirmed no problems, I insisted on more information was sent to pain clinic at hospital where they found nothing but asked me to agree to angiogram. Month later went for angio, complained bitterly as they kept me waiting for 3 hours and, "I had work to do!" 20 minutes later told me I had chronic arterial heart disease and needed a quad bypass urgently and was not to do "anything" until I had the op. 2 years on and 2 stone lighter I'm now 58 and feel pretty much fixed and really good. Eat no crap, drink less and exercise often, gave up job I hated and moved on. But, get it checked!!!!!
