On the face of the well-packaged communication I'm impressed by his overall demeanour and his obvious desire to achieve. His delivery is calm and collected but with an air of confidence that is vital in order to build trust with both players and fans.
He appears passionate and his kinaesthetic communication style will be advantageous in such an emotive and tactile environment as a football club. His language is measured and his choice of phrasing engenders a positivity; again good skills for this sort of role.
That said, all of the above can be learned skills and are all in the armoury of successful communicators. Whilst it's all good stuff, his track record and experience are as important and he does possess enough to tick most boxes.
I think he'll attract players and get them to sign... he'd probably sell you a car too if he put his mind to it 😀
I'm generally cynical about the Director/Coach model but I'm pleased that we're giving it a go and I'm quietly confident that we could go on to better things... but let's see who the Head Coach is!
After a season of utter mediocrity it provides a summer of hope and a little frisson of excitement for entering the unknown next term.
