Rose or Canyon

I have a company which runs cycling holidays and training camps, and we have bought and tested a lot of different bikes over the past few years - and nothing comes close to those two brands in terms of value for money. You can get a frame equivalent to a Trek or Specialized for about half the price. Rose is slightly ahead of Canyon imo, but Canyon has the cheaper entry level models.

The frames are incredible value - even the aluminium frames from Rose/Canyon are better than most carbon ones. They are just on a different level entirely from any of these budget brands like Ribble, Mekk or Btwin which have too much flex, unresponsive handling and are significantly less comfortable. Plus with Rose and Canyon you get a great wheelset and the finishing kit already has top quality tyres/seatpost etc... which is rare on a new bike.

For around £1,000 I think its far better to get a top of the range aluminium frame, rather than a cheap carbon one. It will be as light and will handle better. Something like User Posted Link or User Posted Link

It's all about the frame and the wheels. The difference between 11 speed 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace is negligible unless you are racing. Ultegra and Dura Ace just cost a lot more when you have to replace the chains and cassette.
