Basically it's because of the way the cutting mechanism works on the husqvarna - a large metal plate (which spins but doesn't cut) with a few tiny little razor blades attached to its edge. Even if the blades hit a turd they don't splatter it everywhere because they cut by being sharp, not by being big and heavy and fast like conventional mowers/strimmers (normal mowers basically tear grass rather than cutting it).
The worst you get with turds is that it runs over one with its rear wheels, which are knobbly, so then you have to pick it off. Really not an issue. And because your lawn is short all the time, you spot turds immediately and don't tread on them (and pick them up sooner).
