Because they know it's worse for those particular fans, and it would be seen as ridiculous and absurd by our own fans, and because they know it's wrong. The fact that Savile was from Leeds makes it ok to associate them with him, thus excuses it in their minds, therefore it's rationalised. That's how it's trivialised.

It's not mocking the victims - I never said it was. However if you don't mind others using his crimes to denigrate thousands of others, then I suspect my argument is going to fall in deaf ears.
