I understand it because that's what football fans do

Find the thing they think will most offend the opposition fans and call them it. Has happened for years and years.

My point was really that I don't think it's making "Bantz" at the victims expense or making light of sexual abuse because the reason it's used is because paedophiles are rightly seen as the very lowest form of society.
