We've got a squad with very good players in it for the championship

But I would argue it's not actually a great squad as it lacks balance, variety and flexibility.

If we move to any formation other than some variant of 4-2-3-1 it's a case of square pegs in round holes.

If the midfield pairing of dorrans and tettey really was that good we wouldn't be struggling to control the midfield against all but the weakest championship opponents.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Yes I'm sure AN is to blame for some of the tactical errors, but we've not really been convincing in any match other than perhaps Blackburn. Which isn't really a sign of a great squad.

The blame does still lie with AN though as he's had 3 unsuccessful transfer windows since we were promoted.
