Having seen every game apart from Newcastle so far, I thought that was the worst performance of the season so far. The two penalties disguised a first half in which we looked poor and often second best. Very little quality possession and little threat. The first half hour of the second half was simply atrocious. Possession squandered to easily, panicky, and no obvious pattern or ubderstanding. Only having surrendered the two goal lead did we start to come into it. The last 15 minutes appearing to offer a small crumb of comfort when we began to look at least sporadically threatening.
I'm not sure that any player could walk away with much credit. For me, Brady looks disinterested, Olsson had his worst game of the season, Tettey was shocking and Wes never really got his foot on the ball. Murphy needs a break. Jerome again worked tirelessly with little reward.
I know this will not be greeted kindly by many on here but I actually thought Naismith's introduction helped to steady us and we kept the ball and looked more dangerous after he came on. Nevertheless I'm surprised Pritchard didn't get on and I have some nagging concerns about Alex Neil's ability to influence and change a game tactically.
Fulham will be extremely disappointed to only end with a draw, so I suppose from our perspective to gain a point away with that performance is a bonus. I am still convinced a top six place is a certainty and that we may well be challenging for automatic, but that performance was a shock to the system and a blow to my recent optimism.
