A lot of the Chinese airlines are pretty basic,

Simple food, crap entertainment options, not the most comfortable planes especially compared to the likes of Singapore Airlines/Emirates/Etihad. I'd be looking at one of those 3 if I were you. I've flown back and forth from Aus to England, each year for the last 4 years, and those would be my preferences. You want to be reasonably comfortable for long flights like that. Skimping is just not worth it unless you absolutely have to.
