Lots of walking - lots and lots of walking. Turned that into training for a 100k walk in July for the CF Trst.
Cut out bread almost totally, 95% of beer and pasta too. Beer is a treat now.
Have adopted (or at least tried to) a "be bothered" attitude. If something needs doing that involves effort, do it right away. Use the stairs instead of the lift at work, don't drive to the shops which are five minutes away, spend an extra five minutes and walk or run to them as well. Once my knees and back stopped hurting, started jogging (gently) again.
Generally, eat more of the right things - less of the crap. Eat lots of protein and "good" fats (fish and avocado for example). I even have bacon and eggs most morning, but cooked grilled, fat cut off or using fry light.
Lots of small changes really. Slimming World helps a lot, even if you don't follow the plan exactly. Going to somewhere once a week keeps you accountable.
And finally, even though he doesn't know it, Yellalee's transformation was a big impetus in getting me started. I only met him for the first time on the Wrathbus, and had never known he was a bigger fella before he lost his weight. That started a thought process off of "if he can, I can too". Sometimes you just need to see that other people have done it too.
Best of luck mate.
