... but I don't see anyone being consistent enough to overhaul them - it's still a decent margin. Possibly Crystal Palace, but they still haven't quite got it together, really.
Now they're out of the Cups, this might (finally) be their year - they've been here since 1994-5, which is a verylong time (longest in the division, I think).
Warnock does like his journeyman strikers but he seems to work on the principle that having seven or eight passable/mediocre Division One strikers is as good as having one or two really good ones (a bit like us in 2001-2, when Nielsen, Libbra, Notman and Abbey took turns to partner Roberts and got as many goals between them as one Very Good striker would've, IMO).
