Every time I have been there on business, what I did was to go

to this Irish pub which is in a little street on your left as you walk down the Ramblas (downhill direction). I think it was called Molly's Fair City but not sure.

Every time I went in there on my own, I met lots of friendly people both Spanish and foreign, and got taken out to other pubs and nightclubs - had a great time all the time.

Beware Mare Magnum late at night unless in a big crowd with Spanish speakers - it can get very violent! Quiet a few muggings, shootings, etc.
